Located in Sabine Parish, Phillip’s Creek Mitigation Bank is approximately 249 acres. Prior to 1940, the site was mostly converted from forestland to allow for cattle grazing and pastureland. Phillip’s Creek Mitigation Bank will restore the natural drainage patterns and forested wetlands by replanting a variety of indigenous species of hardwoods. Doing so will help provide buffers to sensitive habitat types and specifically restore stream functions.
