Justin Dakota Addison
February 9, 1996 – January 22, 2013
“I just love nature. I can and have literally sat in a tree or on our beach for hours on end just sitting perfectly still. I gain the same lucidity that I do when I‘m in a good thinking mood late at night. I love the quiet. The simplicity. Everything makes sense there. I think that’s the same thing that has drawn so many great poets and authors out there, like Thoreau, Whitman, Frost, and Emerson…and so many others.” ~Justin Addison
LTL has lost a valued and loved member of our collective family. We are deeply saddened with the passing of Justin Dakota Addison, son of LTL President, Jay Addison.
Justin, a high school student, was an honorable young man, remarkably talented, and wise well beyond his years. Justin was a gifted athlete, an avid outdoorsman, a talented photographer and artist. Justin’s photography skills, energy, enthusiasm, and infectious smile were special gifts he brought to helping his father establish LTL. Justin was a dear friend and we will miss him.
More than 100 cyclists paid tribute to Justin in a three mile bike ride along the Tammany Trace.
Donations in honor of Justin may be made to Land Trust for Louisiana.
