Bossier City, Louisiana, August 7, 2014 – Land Trust for Louisiana, a non-profit 501(c)(3) land conservation organization based in Hammond, LA, will host a workshop for Louisiana landowners on the many benefits of land conservation to help protect our state’s family farms, cultural landscapes, and natural resources. Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased at the door. Better yet, become a member! All current LTL Members get in FREE.

Specializing in land conservation, there are a variety of ways in which Land Trust for Louisiana (LTL) helps landowners protect our watersheds, ecosystems, and natural treasures. A dynamic conservation organization, LTL plays an essential role for the health of this region because of their clear vision, mission, and values that have remained constant across time. Land Trust for Louisiana accomplishes its mission through land donations, conservation easements, and land acquisition and works through a variety of partnerships to preserve sensitive natural areas, both in rural and urban environments. Working closely with community partners, LTL helps create a healthy and sustainable natural environment by conserving and protecting valuable natural areas, agricultural lands, and urban green spaces of Louisiana for current and future generations.

ACEPAudience members will also have the opportunity to learn more about the recent changes that have occurred with the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), formerly known as the Farm and Ranch Protection Program. With federal match dollars waiting to be implemented in Louisiana, organizations like Land Trust for Louisiana will serve as ideal partners to put this program to use to protect our state’s family farms.
